TRAM DOMAN

Synesthesia artist who paints music

TRADITIONAL MEDIA

PAINTINGS

Tram’s works in traditional media range from oils to acrylic to print-making. Her style has evolved from conceptually surrealist story-telling to a poetic form of artistic Synesthesia. Music, specifically a musical composition technique called “word-painting”, has been an inspiration for her later works. Her recent paintings are usually adaptations of a musical piece, more often a 20th-century Impressionist, carrying powerful, expressive multi-sensory experiences.

about

tram doman

Tram Doman is an artist experienced with multiple media. Embracing her inner child – a curious, imaginative and bold spirit – she employs art as a conscious way of dream-like story telling.  She takes pride in her two-way conversational style of art-making, where each piece is an invitation to reflect, to dialogue, to exchange, to contribute. To her, creating and viewing art are two equal parts of a conversational act, taking place in different time and space. There is no defined projection or meaning. Everything is up to the audience to interpret and construct. Ambiguity, to her, is the utmost beautiful form of art-making.
